Solidarity in action through KAIROS Palestine
Kairos Palestine has been holding its 16th anniversary international conference from November 10–16 in Bethlehem. Participants have not only commemorated the creation of the Kairos Palestine Document in 2009, but have also taken part in the launch of the new Kairos Palestine document, “Moment of Truth: Faith in the Time of Genocide.” It is a renewed theological and moral plea to the global Church at a time when Christianity itself faces the threat of extinction in its land of origin. Catholics for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land (CJPHL) has organized a live webinar with Rifat Odeh Kassis, General Coordinator of Kairos Palestine, on the theme, “Kairos Palestine: Challenges and the Way Forward.” Register here for the event, which will happen Saturday, November 29 at 12:00–1:30 PM E.T. Red Candle is a nonviolent movement of Christians for justice and peace in Palestine. During Advent, Red Candle invites you to light a red candle as a concrete, personal way of remembering and embodying solidarity with the Palestinian people. Weekly events hosted by Sabeel Jerusalem
Sabeel conducts a weekly English online worship service on Thursdays at 11:00 AM EDT. The services are a time to meet together to discuss how weekly scripture readings apply to life today, especially in Palestine and Israel, and to pray for the specific needs of this region through the Sabeel Wave of Prayer. Sabeel’s Kumi Now program hosts weekly online sessions every Tuesday via livestream. Each week, Kumi Now highlights a different organization working to raise awareness about specific issues in Palestine and Israel, provides information about a specific issue of injustice through the stories of those affected, and promotes a creative nonviolent advocacy action.
